    The Rabbinical Alumni Association (RAA) is the organization tasked with nurturing the community among rabbinical alumni, strengthening the connection between the alumni and the College-Institute, and creating and sustaining initiatives that serve the ongoing needs of both the alumni and the College-Institute. 

    In order to fulfill this mission, the RAA provides opportunities to keep alumni informed about what is happening at the College-Institute and in the lives of fellow alumni.  We help to shape HUC-JIR's continuing education and professional development opportunities and we encourage and assist alumni in identifying and recruiting candidates interested in entering the rabbinate and other College-Institute programs.

    Mission

    The mission of the Rabbinical Alumni Association (RAA) is to create a nurturing community amongst the alumni; to strengthen the connection between the alumni and the College-Institute; and to create and sustain initiatives that serve the on-going needs of both the alumni and the College-Institute.

    In order to fulfill this mission, the RAA creates community by providing opportunities to keep alumni informed about what is going on at the College-Institute and in the lives of fellow alumni.  The RAA provides continuing education and professional learning opportunities for its members.  The RAA serves the College-Institute in various ways, including engaging in development efforts and encouraging and assisting alumni in identifying and recruiting candidates interested in entering the rabbinate and other College-Institute programs.  The RAA builds connections with current College-Institute students in anticipation of  including them in the alumni community.  The RAA collaborates with the administration, faculty and the Alumni Leadership Council to accomplish this mission.

    Working Groups

    Development: Rabbi Frederick Greene '01 and Rabbi Benjamin Zeidman '10
    Works in collaboration with the Institutional Advancement staff to increase to raise funds for the College-Institute.

    Engagement: Rabbi Michael Namath '01
    Seeks to create new initiatives to create connections among alumni and between alumni with the school and its students and faculty.

    Recruitment: Rabbi Maurice Salth, MARE '05
    Works in collaboration with the Admission and Recruitment staff to support to recruitment efforts and of  the College-Institute.

    Creates and implements initiatives to support students and to connect alumni and students.
